Q: What is your favourite brand at the moment and what is some fashion advice you live by?
Obviously I am lucky that through my fashion buying for the store, I have an insight into trends 12mths in advance, so I'm always being inspired by the gorgeous, boutique, Australian brands we stock, my go to fav is Zoe Kratzmann. My approach to my wardrobe and what I encourage customers in store, is "WEAR IT"... don't save it for that special occasion. If you purchase it, wear it!
Q: Did you find fashion hard to navigate when you became a mum?
Definitely! Being a working mum I have multiple wardrobes depending on what hat I'm wearing on any given day. I definitely fell into an active wear phase and recently put myself on activewear ban (when not exercising) in the summer and that really pushed me to wear more of my wardrobe every day.
Q: What are your favourite things about being a mum?
I love experiencing the different stages... I'm currently in the preschool period and love the learning and development that my children are currently going through. I love that in every stage as a mum you have different experiences with your children.
Q: What have you found the most challenging in your motherhood journey so far?
Like every mum for me the juggle is challenging, trying to get the balance of work, family and your relationships and yourself right. Some days I excel and some days I fail and I have learnt that this is ok, tomorrow is another day right?!
Q: Tell me about your business, its inception – what made you start it?
This is our 15th year in business, which we are extremely excited about. My mother, Fran started the business and after moving to Orange in 2015 I took the business over. The White Place is very much a family business with my mother still being involved, as is my sister, husband and all our staff being a part of one big TWP Party.
Q: What is your go to mum uniform?
My mum uniform is jeans and a blazer, I think I own about 10 blazers!! I fortunately don't feel the cold so a blazer is my go too from April-Oct. In the summer months I am definitely a dress girl.
Q: What is one piece of advice that a Woman, mother figure, aunt, friend etc. has given you that you wish to share with others?
Trust your gut.. is a classic one but I've always stood by it. I think because you can use it in every facet of your life which makes it so classic.
And finally, what pressie from TWP would you be happy to unwrap for Mother’s Day???
Lots! I think some perfume is the top of my list but I'd also be very happy with some new linen pillowcases or some new cheese knives or some salad servers. It's hilarious, sometimes even though I own a boutique it can be the small things I forget to get for myself, like a cheese knife!!!
